Tamiya Toyota Supra TL01 bodyshell details and pictures

|

The Supra is one cool looking sports car.
Even plainly painted it looks stunningly good.

Painted up with white lexan paint the Tamiya Toyota Supra is looking good. The model comes with paint masks for the windows. I gave the model five coats of paint on the inside of the shell waiting about 10 minutes between coats, I'm pleased with the results :-)
The pictures below show the Supra completed with all the decals fitted. Putting these things on takes longer than all the other building combined. There is in the region of sixty transfers which need to be cut out and applied to the bodyshell, many of these are very tricky to apply correctly especially the stripes which go over compound curves.

Plenty of Castrol advertising on this car. There's something a bit special about a racing car with advertising logos plastered all over it.
This model car would also look good in plain colour schemes, the lines of the Supra being very smart.

The ride height of the bodyshell is highly adjustable on the mounts. Snap pins are used for setting the height and securing the shell. I've cut the excess off the mount posts in these pictures. The rear wing is a separate hard plastic moulding which locates in the lexan bodyshell of the car and is secured by clips.
